Cancellation and Changes to Events Policy

The following cancellation Policy applies to all Local Government Professionals Tasmania events. Whilst LG Professionals Tasmania is sympathetic to the inevitability of changing circumstances, we incur costs for each cancelled registration. It is for this reason that the following cancellation policies apply:

  • If a registration is cancelled 4 weeks prior to the event, the fee of that registration will be refunded, minus a 10% processing fee.
  • Cancellations received between 4 weeks and 1 week prior to the event will be subject to a 50% cancellation fee, representing costs charged by the venue for confirmed numbers.
  • Cancellations received less than 1 week prior to the event will not be able to be refunded and will incur a 100% cancellation fee.
  • The Board at its discretion can vary this policy upon application.

Note: Substitutions are a welcome alternative and in these instances no fees will be charged. Requests for refunds MUST be made in writing to the Executive Officer and will be honoured only if they have been confirmed in writing by the Executive Officer (EO).

Changes to events

A tremendous amount of effort is spent to ensure all of LG Professionals Tasmania events proceed as originally marketed. It is with regret that circumstances beyond our control can sometimes prevent this from happening.

As such, LG Professionals Tasmania reserves the right to change the speaker(s) and/or agenda details at any time throughout the marketing lifecycle of an event. It should go without saying that we will diligently minimise the risks of changes to any event and will notify all participants of any changes in a timely manner.

Once you are registered, what is the next step

When you have registered for an event and that registration has been received by us, you will be sent a confirmation email. This will include your invoice and any relevant information regarding the event you are registered for. We will regularly keep you updated regarding the events for which you have registered.
