Face to Face – Governance in Action Workshop
Good decisions require good governance.
The Governance in Action workshop, offered for the first time, explores transparency, the political dynamics of governance including working with Councillors, and the role of integrity agencies.
The workshop contextualises learnings like the requirements of CEOs, the role and needs of Councillors, and utilising frameworks for good governance.
Developed for LG Pro Tas by LG Pro Vic designed for managers and new governance officers to those aspiring to a governance position – if your role requires a clear understanding of governance issues, this program is for you.
The program is delivered by former council Chief Executive Officers who understand the sector and the complexities faced by people working in it.
This program is a face to face 6 hour session where participants will increase their understanding of:
- Good governance and decision making.
- Governance in the local government context.
- Strategies for supporting good governance in their organisation.
- The role of integrity agencies.
- Requirements of the CEO in their accountabilities to the elected Council.
- The role and needs of elected Councillors whilst supporting good governance.
This workshop is suited to:
- Directors, managers, coordinators, and team leaders
Project Officers. - New governance officers or staff interested in transitioning to a governance role.
- Executive Assistants to CEOs and Councillors/Mayors.
- Any role with a requirement for a clear understanding of governance issues

Registrations are open to members only until 16 April 2026 and then thereafter offered to both members and non-members until COB 30 April 2026
