Each year, LG Professionals Australia runs the Raymond West Scholarships program, giving emerging local government leaders the chance to attend the National Congress & Business Expo.
Raymond West was the founder of the LG Professionals Australia federation in 1936. These scholarships are offered in honour of him.
The award funds two people from each state to attend the LG Professional’s National Congress, which will be held in Canberra from 22-24 August 2018. This scholarship is jointly supported by National and state LG Pro.
The judges were impressed with the number and standard of applicants this year, and they found the process of narrowing down a large applicant pool very challenging.
We’re pleased to announce this year’s winners are Amy Clemons from King Island Council, and Geoffrey Stick from the City of Launceston.
We’ll look forward to their reports after they’ve attended the Congress.
