LG Professionals Tasmania is once again excited to offer two Tasmanian’s working in Local Government the chance to attend the National Congress under the the ‘Raymond West Scholarship’.
LG Professionals National will meet the Congress Registration costs (including the Welcome Reception and Congress Dinner) whilst Tasmania will meet any reasonable accommodation and travel costs. Attendance at the ‘optional’ activities are the responsibility of the applicant.
This is an exciting opportunity to attend one of the largest conferences to hit Tasmania for a while, in order to apply applicants should:
Be working in Local Government in Tasmania
Demonstrate a clear interest in a career in Local Government
Be looking for a significant professional development opportunity, and
Not have previously attended the National Congress under the scholarship or other funded award
EXPECTATIONS OF SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS
Scholarship recipients must be agreeable to participate in National’s digital promotions and communications and providing photos and bios for National’s website and social media platforms.
Scholarship recipients may be required to be available to present at future young professionals networking events organised by LG Professionals Tasmania
Recipients must provide a written review on the Congress including what they have learned to LG Professionals Tasmania for inclusion in the Annual Report by end of August 2017
APPLICATION PROCESS
Applicants should submit a short application (maximum two pages) addressing the following questions:
Why they would benefit from attending National Congress
How they have demonstrated leadership either within their workplace or wider community in line with the theme of ‘A fresh perspective on leadership for the local government of today and tomorrow’
